This work, inspired by plate 37, “Esto es peor” from Francisco Goya's Disasters of War (1810-20), can be considered Mastrovito's first attempt at overlapping shades of white, which, in subsequent years, would lead to developments such as the solo show Millionnaire (Galerie Analix Forever, Geneva, 2007).
