The installation “Neverending End – 100 Last Pages” – winner of the “Qui l'arte è di casa” competition promoted by the Municipality of Bergamo in 2012 – was created thanks to the involvement of the community residing at the Villaggio degli Sposi in Bergamo: the artist asked the residents to suggest the title of their favorite novel.
From all those submitted, Mastrovito chose 100 volumes, removed the last page from each one, digitized them, raised them to a height of about 80 cm, and imprinted them in the concrete of the basins that adorn the square by the company ARCHIFORM srl of San Paolo d'Argon through a complex and brand new process called graphic concrete, which exposes, in the desired points, the underlying marble chips.
On the external walls of the spaces intended for the library adjacent to the square, there is a permanent map that shows the public the title, author, publisher, and location of each individual passage engraved in the concrete basins.
