"L'amore dipinto was inspired by an old Soft Cell song, Tainted Love, covered numerous times. Following the poetics of the lyrics, it can be translated as a painted love, a facade, despite the fact that “tainted” means rotten, spoiled.
Mastrovito paints love on the walls of the Oberdan space with a mechanism that alternates between a minute of light and a minute of darkness: during the minute of light, excerpts from the song are played on a loop, and during the minute of darkness... magic... two lovers in a forest of phosphorescent birch trees with a shower of adhesive stars. This is our painted love, in our souls and on our walls."
