"This work is part of a series I began at the end of 2016 and would gladly continue even today if I had the time. The Conversations are intersections of drawings and objects in which I “converse” with my favorite artists, with the themes that most fascinate me, with the characters of our time. In the Conversations, drawing both simulates, creates, and erases, juxtaposed with rulers—the arbiters of reality—and novels—the heralds of fiction—in a delicate balance of lies and truth. A Brief History of Our Century According to the Stuff on My Desk also involves chance (paraphrasing Monod), as the objects were genuinely on my desk by chance, and necessity. The work is divided into four identical panels, four modules, so that, when split, it could fit perfectly into the suitcase I use for trips between New York and Italy"
