The exhibition presents the winning projects of the Outdoor Gallery Competition 2012, a long-term international project organized by the Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art in an effort to create a permanent collection of artworks in the city's public space.
The fifth edition was organized in collaboration with the municipal company Pomorskie Metropolitan Rail S.A. (PKM), which organized the competition and asked the selected artists to design graphics for the walls of PKM metro stations, which will connect Lech Walesa Airport with Gdansk Wrzeszcz and the Kashubia region. Anna Waligórska, from Gdansk, won the first prize of €5,000 plus the realization of the project, while two second prizes were awarded ex aequo to Hans Peter Kuhn (Germany) and Andrea Mastrovito, who presented the project “Machina Coelestis”.
