"The exhibition "Sub Limine - The Power of Creation" explores the boundaries between reality, perception, and symbolism through the works of two Italian artists, Loris Cecchini and Andrea Mastrovito. Although coming from different artistic backgrounds, they share a poetic approach focused on the constant transformation of reality through a visionary language.
The other themes addressed by the two protagonists, Andrea Mastrovito and Loris Cecchini, are also highly relevant: the ambiguity of historical memory, the upheaval of traditional conceptions of the body, and the infinite, uncontrollable potential of human imagination supported by new technologies. [...]
The film NYsferatu – Symphony of a Century, entirely created by Andrea Mastrovito, takes on one of the most powerful and unsettling themes in popular culture: the image of the vampire — a symbol of darkness that eclipses the light of reason. NYsferatu is not merely a reinterpretation of the famous silent film, but a deeper exploration of the nature of evil and fear — elements that permeate the video’s compositional structure.
Mastrovito transforms horror iconography into a work that invites the viewer to reflect on the human condition, on the boundary between life and death, and on the inescapability of a fate that endlessly repeats itself. Through the use of materials, techniques, and forms that blend tradition and modernity, the artist creates a visual atmosphere that transcends the simple notion of fear, offering instead a meditation on existence and our fragile human state."
