The Consolandi collection, started in Milan by Paolo and Franca Consolandi in the late 1950s and continued until 2009 and beyond, is one of the most significant collections assembled in Italy in recent decades.
Around a hundred works were exhibited at Palazzo Reale, ranging from the 1919 book by Fernand Léger and Blaise Cendrars to Andy Warhol, Cocteau, Picasso, Lucio Fontana, Keith Haring, Sophie Calle and Andrea Mastrovito in 2007, and Sabrina Mezzaqui, the latest acquisition in 2009.
Mastrovito's volume “When Will This End,” exhibited on this occasion, is a flip book based on drawings for the animation “Eine Symphonie des Grauens” (2007).
